Romulus, MI, November 14, 2017 —
Detroit Thermal Systems, LLC (DTS), announced the appointment of Kurt Hall to President and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he will provide strategic, financial and operational leadership and direction for the organization. Prior to this new position, Hall was chief operating officer for DTS, a position he held since 2012.
Hall, who is a long-time executive of Vinnie Johnson-led manufacturing ventures, also served from 2001 to 2006 in roles including president and chief operating officer for Piston Group.
Prior to joining DTS, Hall led the Vehicle Control Systems business for Meritor WABCO within NAFTA. Hall also spent 23 years at Continental Automotive, most recently as a corporate officer and vice president of the Foundation Brake business unit within NAFTA. He also served as general manager, Piston Modules, LLC, a tier 1 joint venture between Piston Automotive and Continental which produced brake corner modules. Early in his career, he was a director at ITT Automotive where he served for 11 years in roles of increasing responsibility.
Hall also held key positions with Unit FTT, Inc. (now GATX), a tier 1 material distribution company to General Motors, including Controller, and with Federal-Mogul as a financial analyst within the Engine and Transmission Products Group. He began his career at Volkswagen as a member of the startup team that worked to launch a second assembly plant in North America.
Hall received his master’s degree in business administration, from Wayne State University and his bachelor’s of business administration in finance. He has completed the International Development Program of the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, as well as executive education programs at the University of Michigan.
